It isn’t a good sign for the state of the rest of the country…

When you have to blackmail your healers to keep them in the country

Iraq has re-imposed a Hussein-era rule that graduating doctors can’t receive their medical diplomas, in an effort to keep them from fleeing the country.

But even if they stay, there’s no way to guarantee their safety – nor anyone else’s – and there’s little or no equpment for them to practice with. After over a decade of sanctions, what was left of hospitals and medical equipment has been bombed, hijacked or exhausted since the invasion.

This is what democracy looks like? It’s been over 4 years, getting worse everyday, what magic is Congress expecting to happen by September? Or is it another political game while tens of thousands more are displaced and thousands more die?
