Bombings kill at least 127 in Iraq on Wednesday

Iraq’s national security adviser, Mowaffak al-Rubaie, delivered a speech on behalf of Maliki, who pledged to take security control of the nation from foreign forces by the end of 2007.

“[It] will be province by province until we achieve [this transfer] before the end of the year,” Rubaie said, according to news services. Six ministers loyal to Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr quit the government on Monday, citing Maliki’s failure to call for a timetable for the withdrawal of U.S. troops.

So the Iraqi Prime Minister is saying that the Iraqi government will take over from foreign forces by the end of 2007 and people are quitting the government because it’s not enough action. Yet all the U.S. Congress can muster are ‘goals’ for troop withdrawal by March 2008 (Senate) or September 2008 (House), a date soon to be reconciled and sent as a p.s. with that check for almost $100 Billion to keep the war going, and Bush is going nuts and has promised to veto such weak demands.

Can we get a show of hands for who has lost touch with reality?
