About 20 students gathered by Hendricks Chapel for a peace rally today on Syracuse University’s quad.

Monday marked the fourth anniversary of the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. Students held signs protesting the war and tied orange strips of plastic to the trees in front of Hendricks. The rally was organized by the Student Peace Action Network, an SU student group.

Ben Fischer, an SU senior who participated in the rally, said he thought that students need to make their voices heard.

“I think students, especially our generation, have been really slacking on this issue,” said Fischer, a physics major from Rhode Island.

We’re still getting reportbacks from actions around the country on 4th Anniversary of the invasion actions…got some to share? Send updates and pictures to SPAN@peace-action.org
